As a follow up to our recent changes to email notifications, today we made a small change to how Text Message Reminders are sent through the AppointmentPlus system. As of 3:40 pm Pacific today, all Text Message Reminders will be sent from the email address firstname.lastname@example.org.
We recently found the process of delivering Text Message Reminders to be unreliable when sent from a custom email address. This change is designed to improve the delivery rates of Text Message Reminders by always sending them through a specific email address.
Prior to this change, Text Message Reminders were sent from the “Contact Email Address” included in the "Location Information" section of each account.
How does this change apply to me?
- Text Message Reminders will now be sent from email@example.com.
NOTE: For accounts associated with a Value Added Reseller (VAR), Text Message Reminders will be sent from firstname.lastname@example.org.
- This change does not affect the scheduled Text Message Reminders for appointments that already exist in the system.
- End users will no longer be able to reply directly to your organization after receiving a Text Message Reminder.
- If you receive complaints from end users that they are not receiving their Text Message Reminders, please let us know.
