Internet Explorer containts features to protect users against malicious and fraudulent websites. It can help to detect Phishing or downloading malicious software with it's SmartScreen Filter, but it can also impact the loading speed of your AppointmentPlus account. So, what is Phishing and SmartScreen Filter?
- Phishing
Online Phishing is a way to scam users through e-mails and websites. The most common approach by Phishing scams is to send out fraudullent e-mails that resemble a trusted company and asking for personal information. They will usually send a link to a form to enter your personal information such as an account number or password.
- SmartScreen Filter
The SmartScreen Filter helps to detect Phishing, malicious software or malware.

To find out more about Phishing and the SmartScreen Filter, please check out these FAQ's within the Help section of Microsoft.If you are experiencing slowness with your Internet Explorer browser, follow the steps below to add AppointmentPlus as one of your trusted sites:

Close all Internet Explorer windows.

Open a new Internet Explorer window.

If you see a message stating an "add-on can cause Internet Explorer to crash or stop responding," click Always open Internet Explorer without this add-on.

Add AppointmentPlus as a trusted site based on the Internet Explorer version you are using:.
Windows Internet Explorer 8 & 9-
Log into your AppointmentPlus account.

Click Tools button > Internet Options

Click Security tab > Trusted sites

Click Sites buttonYour AppointmentPlus website address should appear in the "Add this website to the zone" box It should show something similar to the website listed below.

Click Add > Close

Click Custom Level
-
In the Security Settings dialog box, scroll to find "Use SmartScreen Filter, and then click "Disable".

Click OK > then OK again

Windows Internet Explorer 7-
Log into your AppointmentPlus account.

Click Tools button > Internet Options

Click Security tab
-
Click Trusted sites icon > Sites

In the "Add this website to the zone" box, enter the URL of your AppointmentPlus account, and then click Add. An example of the URL to add is shown below.

Close the box.

Click Custom Level
-
Under "Use Phishing Filter", select "Disable". You may have to scroll through the list to find it.

Click OK
