- Appointment booking when cookies disabled
The application has been updated to prevent users from completing the appointment booking process, which could include pre-appointment payment, if the user's Internet browser has disabled cookies. When a user has disabled cookies, the appointment booking process cannot be accurately and successfully completed through the online booking interface. Additionally, if the user is entering payment information, the process of conducting the payment transaction is impacted. Going forward, users will not be able begin the booking process if they have disabled cookies on their Internet browser. The user will be alerted to this situation and notified that they can either enable cookies or contact the business directly to book an appointment. The change to the application will protect users from paying for or booking an appointment with no contact information.
- Handling payments when missing session ID
The appointment scheduling process has been updated to ensure that a payment will not be processed if there is an error in finalizing the appointment. In some cases, customers booking an appointment would process a required payment but the appointment would not be successfully completed and added to the calendar. This situation caused confusion for the customer and the business in relation to a scheduled appointment. Going forward, the system will notify the customer if an error has occurred that would not result in a successful appointment and payment. The customer will be directed to call the business.
