I already have the POS system but am using a processing provider that has instructions that include updating a URL. I do not see where I update a URL to point to them. Can you please forward the instructions for adding a processing provider? This is an Authorize.net setup via Network Merchants Inc.

    Thank you

Eric – The instructions you're referring to must be for a different system. Our integration with Authorize.net does not require updating a URL. You will only need to add your Authorize.net login, password, and transaction key in the Customer Payments section of Settings.

Be extremely cautious using this system.  There are LOTS of things it will not do.  Such as keeping track of a customers balance if they cancel an appointment or only use part of the payment they made when scheduling an appointment.  HUGE LIMITATION.  It will also not notify you or automatically refund a client that has paid but has to cancel an appointment.  It helps with some things but it is the most limited POS system I have ever seen.

Denny – I understand your frustration regarding the point of sale functionality. Although we do offer basic options for accepting and processing payments for appointments, our primary focus is to provide advanced scheduling tools. Therefore, the point of sale plugin was never designed to replace a traditional point of sale system.

Hi, I just recently activated the plugin - I have a card swiping device - which I got from Merchantware (Cayan) and I use it on my iPad Mini- When I go to process someone's payment- it does give me the option to "swipe card" but it didn't work so I had to hand enter it...it could have been their card but I just wanted to make sure that Cayan's stuff is completely integrated with AP.

2nd question: Is there an icon I can copy  to my website that lets people make a payment? I already have the "Book Now" icon that takes them to the login for scheduling.

3rd question: I have standard rates for my counseling services but some people are on a sliding fee and others use insurance- Whats the best way to set this up? I currently have the cost field bring up the Standard Rate for the service and I set up a bunch of coupon codes in increments of 5.00 - I'm not sure if this is right or if I should just type in a field the actual amount they are paying. thanks and sorry for all the questions......

    Hi Sue,

Thanks for adding a comment with your questions. The AppointmentPlus system is currently integrated with Merchant Warehouse (Cayan) and will give you the option to add credit card information using a USB swiper. The “Swipe Card” option should work correctly as long as the credit card swiper device was ordered through Merchant Warehouse. The issue I believe you are experiencing is due to the fact that the USB swiper can only be used with a PC or Mac laptop or desktop. The option to use a swiper with a mobile device is not currently supported when processing payments through your AppointmentPlus account.

We do not offer an option to add a payment icon to your website. I recommend reaching out to Merchant Warehouse to find out if they provide that option.

I think it makes sense to use coupon codes to apply the sliding fee discounts. Although you could modify payment amount on the transaction page, using a coupon code to change the payment amount will make it easier to track the sliding fees with sales reports.

    Thanks,

    -Shawn

    Hi Robert,

Thanks for your comment! It is not currently possible to turn off the customer selection when processing transactions through the point of sale plugin.
